New Delhi - On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to Operation Sindoor as a ‘Vijay Utsav’ or victory celebration for India. He expressed optimism that the Parliament would engage in discussions regarding this successful military operation, which he believes will uplift the spirits of the Indian Armed Forces and inspire citizens across the nation.
While addressing the media prior to the Monsoon Session of Parliament, PM Modi stated, “This Monsoon Session is a ‘Vijay Utsav’. The world has witnessed the might of the Indian Armed Forces. The objectives set for Operation Sindoor were fully accomplished, with terrorists neutralized in their own territory within a mere 22 minutes.”
He continued, “I announced this at an event in Bihar, where our Armed Forces showcased their capabilities. The ‘Made in India’ initiative, which highlights a new dimension of India’s military strength, has garnered international interest. During my interactions with foreign dignitaries, I observe a rising curiosity about our indigenous weapons.”
PM Modi expressed his desire to discuss the achievements of Operation Sindoor in Parliament, stating, “When the House unites in celebrating this ‘Vijay Utsav’ during this session, it will not only fortify India’s military capabilities but also motivate citizens and stimulate research, innovation, and manufacturing in the defense sector, ultimately creating job opportunities for the youth.”
Reflecting on Indian astronaut Subhanshu Shukla’s recent mission to the International Space Station, the Prime Minister remarked, “This Monsoon Session represents a significant moment of pride for our nation. It embodies a true celebration of victory. I must emphasize the historic occasion of the Indian Tricolour being displayed for the first time at the International Space Station.”
He added, “This is a proud achievement for every Indian. This successful mission has sparked excitement and interest in science, technology, and innovation among our youth. All parliamentarians and citizens will come together with enthusiasm to celebrate these remarkable advancements in space.”
The Prime Minister also described the monsoon as “a symbol of renewal and rejuvenation,” noting that the weather conditions across the country are “progressing very positively.”
He concluded by stating, “Reports suggest that the monsoon is beneficial for agriculture, which in turn supports the farmers’ economy, the national economy, and rural development.”
